I make clothing designed to ensure that women of all ages feel good as well as look good. My styles are easy to wear, easy to wash, and will easily become favorites to put on again and again.
By designing the clothes myself, and selling directly to my customers, I have been able to see, with my own eyes, what really works for our many different shapes. It is always fun to experience first hand, how people light up when they discover they can look as good as they feel in an L.A. Saether outfit.
Most of my customers have been with me for over ten years!
I was educated in the fine arts, and received a BFA and MFA in printmaking. This blended perfectly with my love of making clothes growing up.
At 6 feet 2 inches, making my own clothing was necessary, believe me!
I always picked fabrics by how they felt, and I still do this today.
The fabrics I use all feel very different from the standard fare.
Starting in 2007 new pieces are made in either 100 % organic cotton or organic cotton/lycra blends.
They are all 100% comfort.
In keeping with supporting earth friendly living and working, I will be switching to biodegradable plastic bags this fall. A passive solar heat collector has be added to the south end of the studio and I am hoping to convert to renewable energy in the near future.
